Collection consists of 24 b&w photos of Eskimo National Guard members and construction of armories in the following Alaska villages: Alakanuk, Arctic Village, Hooper Bay, Koyuk, Noorvik, Shaktoolik, Shishmaref, St. Michael, Teller, Unalakleet. Members of the U.S. Army Engineer District, Alaska, Western Alaska Residency assisted members of the Alaska Eskimo Scouts Battalion in constructing 48 prefabricated metal buildings, which would serve as armories in remote northern Alaska villages.
